| andy lee was born in hong kong in 1974. he
went to the united states at the age of eight.
at a young age, andy's uncle taught him the calligraphic art
of painting with sumi ink and bamboo brush on rice paper.
he has since gone to earn a b.a. in fine arts from washington
state university in st. louis.
his work is best described as a form of modern zen art which
combines eastern and western philosophies of painting.
his art works have graced the covers and pages of many
publications worldwide. among them are image comics' "kabuki", white wolf's
sourcebooks for "vampire: kindred of the east" and "the crow".
andy frequently holds gallery showings and continues to study
cha'an buddhist methods of painting and applies the method, as well as the religion, to
his art and daily lifestyle.
look for andy at most major comic-cons around the states: he
is the man with black ink smudged on his face.
